Day 8: What happens on Sunday in Cake Palace?

Cake Palace opens the shop on all weekdays plus Saturday, between 5:00 am and 7:30 pm. Since the products are needed very early in the morning, we need to work at night to serve our first customers. That makes the bakery active for 24 hours. The only “free” day Cake Palace has is Sunday only.

However, forced by the demand of Monday morning, we bake on Sunday too. In fact, Monday demand is the highest among our working days. Thus, our Sunday baking starts 3:00 pm.

The Sunday working hours are too long for an average employee. Thus, a day-time shift (four employees) comes to work from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, and then the night shift (fours other employees) work for the whole night, 6:00 pm – 6:00 am.
